What Pro replaces

Three of the applications, priced against the software people usually buy for the same work. Here each is US$35 a year on its own, and all seventeen are US$79. Each of the others’ prices is the maker’s own, read from its pricing page on 7 October 2026, in US dollars before tax, without the discount some give for the first months.

What Pro adds

  • KeepThe papers and passwords of a life, encrypted on your own device: documents of any kind, scanned with the camera and read for their words, records for a passport, a policy, a vehicle or a warranty with reminders months ahead, logins with a generator, quick access from any screen and a health score that says what to fix, with a watch list of sites that take passkeys, two-step codes, files on any item, vaults and an archive, import from 1Password, Bitwarden and KeePass, shares that stop opening, a plan and a package for your family with a drill to test it, the recovery key split among trusted people, travel mode, and sync through a folder of your own, all encrypted on the device.
  • The Sovereign SuiteAll fifty-four services in one window: drop a file on it and it tells you which to use. Readiness for twenty frameworks from one set of controls, from SOC 2 and ISO 27001 to NIST 800-53, SOX IT general controls and the EU AI Act, with frameworks and controls of your own and a crosswalk between any two; GitHub, GitLab, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and Okta read from your browser, again when they fall due, as dated evidence; access reviews, a vendor register, a risk register that can put risk in money for the board report, staff records from your HR system’s export, and devices matched to your endpoint protection’s list; checking cloud and container configuration, dependencies and SBOMs, and tracking vulnerabilities; finding sensitive data, cleaning a batch of files before they are shared, sending a file securely, recovery kits, incident response with the reporting clocks of GDPR, NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act, certificates, release signing and more.
  • The Engineering SuiteParametric 3D parts: constrained sketches extruded, revolved, lofted and swept, holes by standard size, fillets (constant, varying, set at points along an edge, and full round), chamfers and shells on an exact OpenCascade kernel, faces pushed and pulled, deleted and moved on any body, imported STEP among them, sheet metal whose flat pattern takes holes cut across its bends, variables in every dimension, configurations that leave features out, derived parts, assemblies with joints, a bill of materials and one part’s edges projected into another’s sketch where they sit, volume, area and mass as you go, and linear stress analysis and shape optimisation worked out on the device; STEP in and out with true surfaces, and 3MF, STL and OBJ for printing. And 2D drawings: AutoCAD’s commands, dimensions with ISO fits and geometric tolerances, hatching, dynamic blocks and a block editor, constraints, sheets with viewports and title blocks, annotative text and dimensions the same size on the paper in every viewport, plot style tables (.ctb and .stb), views made from a 3D part, DXF opened from and saved for AutoCAD, PDF printed to scale, and G-code for a laser or router.
  • The Photo EditorA layered editor in the tab: masks, adjustment layers, smart objects, retouching and content-aware fill, camera raw from DNG, CR3, NEF, ARW and twenty-odd more with lens profiles, Upright from the lines it finds or you draw, three vignette styles and a Develop that fills the window, Lightroom’s sidecars, a library with virtual copies and smart collections, and Photoshop PSD opened and saved with the layers kept.
  • PDF StudioChange the words already in a PDF, in the same font where it has the letters, flowing on through the paragraphs after them and onto the next page, with spelling checked in British or American English; add paragraphs and lists; redact what must not be seen, taken out of the file and not only covered, lines and shapes cut and the length of what was taken hidden; sign with your certificate; make scans searchable; find, make and fill form fields; comment and review, measure, compare two versions; convert to PDF/A and check it rule by rule; tag tables, edit the tag tree and the reading order, and check against PDF/UA; reorder, split and merge pages; run the same steps over many files; print sharp, as text and drawings; and save as Word, Excel (each table a sheet) or PowerPoint.
  • CaseE-discovery for a matter: email (EML, MSG, MBOX, Outlook PST and OST, with their calendar entries, contacts and tasks), PDFs, Office files and pictures loaded for each custodian, attachments kept in their families, PDFs and zips with a password opened when it is given, hashed, deduplicated and threaded; searched with Boolean, phrases, proximity, wildcards, fuzzy words and regular expressions, with a search term report; coded for review with tags, notes and batches, the likeliest documents first by active learning that ranks again as coding goes on, with its cross-validated precision and recall and a stopping report from an elusion sample; clusters, concept search, related words, categories and each document’s language, all worked out on the device; redacted, and produced with Bates numbers, page images, text, natives, DAT and OPT load files and a privilege log; a chronology, a people map, exhibit bundles, and an audit trail chained by SHA-256. A case moves between reviewers as a file, and their coding merges back.
  • UmbraA code editor in the tab: open a folder on your computer and edit it in place, or copy one into a project kept in the browser where the browser cannot open it, with other folders beside it; run JavaScript, TypeScript, Python and SQL in a sandbox walled off from the site, and debug them with breakpoints, stepping (backwards as well as forwards), variables, watch expressions and the call stack. Python’s input() asks in the console, and the files a script writes can be kept in the project; SQL runs on SQLite, in memory or on a database file in the project; Jupyter notebooks open, run cell by cell and save with their outputs. TypeScript’s own compiler checks types as you type, completes, renames and finds references across files, and offers its quick fixes. Run the project’s tests one at a time or all together, see a web page or Markdown as you write it, format with Prettier, search every file, and stage, commit, diff, branch, blame, stash and merge with git on the device, with an editor for the conflicts. Extensions add commands, snippets, formatters, linters and themes, and run with no network. Turn on Record how this was written and every edit, paste (with where it came from) and run is kept on the device as an Authorship record, to hand in with the code and checked free at /verify-authorship.
  • BooksBookkeeping for a sole trader, a landlord or a small company, kept on the device: bank statements read in from CSV, OFX or QIF and explained, with rules and reconciliation; invoices, quotes, credit notes and bills, with their PDFs and receipts, and CIS deductions with the monthly return’s figures and statements; payroll posted from your payroll software’s summary; directors’ loan accounts with section 455, and dividends with their minutes and vouchers; projects and tracking categories; the nine boxes of the VAT return, standard or flat rate, on invoices or on cash; profit and loss, balance sheet, trial balance, cash flow and the general ledger for any period; a 13-week cash forecast; the year end, the lock, and the SA103 and SA105 figures.
  • RootsFamily history on the device: a tree of people, families, sources and pictures, GEDCOM 5.5.1 and 7.0 in and out; shared events with witnesses and households, a census page entered once, tags and saved filters, and every line by which two people are related; pedigree, descendant, hourglass and fan charts printed up to A0; a family history book in Register or NGSQ form as PDF or Word; checks for impossible dates, duplicates merged with Undo, DNA match lists and segments on a chromosome browser, triangulation and What Are The Odds?, and sharing with living people kept private.
  • ResearchStatistics and qualitative analysis in one project, kept on the device: .sav, Stata, CSV and Excel files opened; t-tests, ANOVA, MANOVA, linear and stepwise regression with robust standard errors, linear mixed models, generalised linear models, mediation, factor analysis, ROC curves, survival and the non-parametric tests, with APA tables; case weights and multiple imputation; interviews, recordings and open answers coded and queried, with agreement measured between coders.
  • PracticePractice management for a small firm, kept encrypted on the device: clients, intake forms, anti-money laundering risk assessments, screening against the consolidated sanctions list file you download, and the conflict check; matters with their workflows, tasks, budgets by phase that warn as the estimate nears, and the closing checklist with each file’s destruction date; time recorded in units, bills carrying your own payment link and its QR code, credit notes, statements and LEDES files; client money, requests for money on account and the office account; documents, court bundles indexed and paginated, and letters signed on the device; a complaints register; and the reports a practice runs on.
  • WriteNovels and scripts written on the device: a binder, a corkboard, an outliner, keywords, collections, a plotline grid and beat sheets; spelling with a dictionary of the project’s own words; an editor’s tracked changes and comments brought back from Word to accept or reject; screenplays, stage and radio plays with revision marks, locked scene numbers and locked pages, alternate lines and breakdown sheets, and Final Draft files in and out; a compile to standard manuscript format in Word and PDF, a print-ready book or an EPUB with its cover; targets, statistics and a log of submissions.
  • AuthorshipA record of how a piece of writing or a drawing was made, kept as you make it: every run of typing, deletion and paste in a tamper-evident chain, timestamped by an independent authority if you want, in a file anyone can check free at /verify-authorship, where two points of the writing can be compared and a class’s records read side by side. Written at a desk with an outline, focus, right-to-left text and input methods, and exported to Word, PDF or Markdown with the record beside it; drawn on layers; begun from a teacher’s brief with its rubric.
  • SoundA multitrack audio editor on the device, for podcasts, voice-overs and music: recording with punch-in, pre-roll, loop takes and comping, and sealed as evidence if you choose; editing by the transcript, from SCRIBE’s word timings or an SRT or WebVTT file, words cut and the audio with them; clips cut, faded, crossfaded and given envelopes of their own on a timeline, split at silences, labelled on label tracks, scrubbed and played at half to twice the speed; a mixer with buses, sends, VCAs, meters that hold their peaks, a true-peak meter, a phase meter and a vectorscope; EQ, dynamics, reverb, chain presets and track templates, noise reduction learned from the room, hum removal, a DeClipper and the spectrogram edited to heal a click or a cough; an interview cleaned up speaker by speaker and levelled; loudness measured to ITU-R BS.1770-4 and set for each platform on export, as MP3, WAV, FLAC, Opus or AAC with the markers as chapters, and show notes with their timestamps.
  • VectorVector illustration on the device: the pen, the scissors, the knife and the eraser, Simplify, shapes, gradients, layers and artboards; several fills and strokes on one object, pattern swatches, Recolour artwork, symbols whose copies follow them, clipping and opacity masks, live corners, strokes that change width, and shadows, glows and blurs that stay editable; unite, subtract, intersect and exclude worked out on the curves, a shape builder, blends and image trace; Transform again and Transform each, Average, Select same, Clean up and a measure tool; rich type in several faces, sizes and colours, along a path too, with change case and find and replace, outlined from your own fonts in Chrome and Edge, and still text in a PDF; smart guides, rulers and a grid, with the keys Illustrator uses; SVG, PDF, PNG, JPEG and WebP out, and Illustrator files and SVG from Inkscape or Figma opened with what Vector cannot edit kept as it was. File, Record how this was drawn keeps every operation on the device as an Authorship record, to hand in with the drawing and checked free at /verify-authorship.
  • EraseYour data rights used and tracked on the device: subject access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and the safeguards for automated decisions under the GDPR and the UK GDPR; know, delete, correct and opt out under the CCPA and eighteen other US state laws; access and correction under PIPEDA and the Australian Privacy Act; Brazil’s LGPD; each letter citing its article or section, GDPR requests in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch or Portuguese as well as English, and each deadline counted as the law counts it, public holidays included. A dated directory of 143 brokers and companies and the public services that reach many at once; campaigns started from a goal; a reply pasted in, or read from an .eml or Outlook .msg file, or found in a later mailbox export, read by fixed rules, with the next step and its letter; a chaser, an appeal and a complaint, each dated and reminded; a walk through the people-search sites; screenshots of a listing kept with their SHA-256; a map of where your data is; re-listing checks on a schedule; the case file and a complaint pack as one PDF with what came back; plug-in packs; and all of it kept encrypted.
  • The ConverterA converter that runs on the device: drop files or a whole folder and each is known by its contents, not its name, and set to the format it is most often wanted in. Pictures (HEIC, camera raw, PSD, AVIF, WebP, TIFF and the rest) to JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, ICO or a PDF, resized and with their location removed; Word, OpenDocument, Markdown, HTML, RTF, EPUB and PowerPoint to PDF, Word or text; spreadsheets and data between Excel, CSV, OpenDocument, JSON, XML, SQL and SQLite with their numbers and dates kept; audio between MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, Opus and AIFF, evened out in loudness if you want; video from MOV to MP4 without re-encoding, compressed or resized, or made a GIF; and fonts, subtitles, maps and tracks, contacts, calendars, archives and 3D models. Presets for the commonest jobs, your own saved from the queue; the results saved one by one, as one zip, or straight into a folder; and a folder watched, so that what arrives in it is converted as it comes.
  • Save and export, everywhereEvery other tool outside the Workspace is free to open and to check a file with. Pro saves the result: the photo with its location taken out, the redacted PDF, the cleaned document, the report.
  • SOC 2 readinessEvery criterion an auditor tests, the evidence each one needs, who owns it and how far it has got, with the readiness report to hand the auditor.
  • Find sensitive dataRead every file in a folder and list the credentials, card numbers, ID numbers and personal data in each, with an export that never shows a value unmasked.
  • Offline, once openedThe Pro code is kept on the device after the first visit, so Keep, the Sovereign Suite, the Engineering Suite, the Photo Editor, PDF Studio, Case, Umbra, Books, Roots, Research, Practice, Write, Authorship, Sound, Vector, Erase and the Converter keep working with the network off.

What stays free

The Workspace, all of it: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Notes, Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, Plan, Drive and the PDF editor, at home and at work, with no account. And every single tool outside it, over a hundred of them under Sovereign and Other, to open and to check a file with, so you always see what it finds before you are asked for anything.

How it works, without an account

When checkout finishes, Stripe sends you back here and this page makes your key: a short signed statement of your plan and the date it runs to. The key is kept in this browser and checked on this device, so the tools still work offline. Copy it or download it from this page, and on another computer paste it under Sign in. There is no password to make or to lose.

The only thing that ever leaves your machine is the key itself, when a Pro feature’s code is fetched, so the server can see it is paid for. Your files never do.

Before you buy

What happens to my files if I cancel?
Nothing. They were never on our servers: what you made is on your own device, and stays there. Cancelling stops the next renewal, Pro stays on until the end of what you paid for, and after that every tool is still free to open and check a file with.
Can I get my money back?
Yes. Write to Hello@ObscuraOS.com from the address you paid with, within 14 days of a charge, and that charge is refunded in full, first payment or renewal, pass or subscription. A trial cancelled before it ends is never charged. The details are on the refund page.
Do I get a receipt or an invoice?
Stripe emails a receipt for every payment, and Stripe’s billing page has every invoice, with the email you paid with. On a Team or Business plan bought earlier, the invoice carries your organisation’s name and tax number. Stripe’s checkout shows the full amount before you pay.
How many devices can I use it on?
Every browser you use yourself. Your key is a line of text: copy it from this page and paste it under Sign in on another computer. It is checked on the device it is on, and nothing counts your devices. On Team and Business, a person with a seat of their own does the same with their seat’s key, which works until whoever manages the seats takes it back.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once opened. The key is checked on your device with no request to anybody, and the Pro code is kept on the device after its first visit, so saving from a tool and every one of the seventeen applications keep working with the network off. In CLOAK, SEAL, SCRUB and the other tools people use most, the part that writes the file is Pro code too: the first save with your key fetches it, and after that it saves offline as well. A subscription’s key renews itself when Pro is used online in the five days before it runs out.
We are more than one person.
For now each person needs a plan of their own: a key is for one person, on every browser they use. Plans for a team or a business are not offered at the moment. A team or business that already has one keeps it, and whoever holds its key goes on adding people and taking them off at /seats.
A day with one tool, or a subscription?
A day is for one job: US$2 saves from one free tool for 24 hours from when you pay, paid once, with nothing to cancel. A subscription is for work that comes back: 7 days free, then US$9 a month (or US$79 a year, which is US$6.58 a month). Cancel before the 7 days end and you are not charged.
