Where the weight sits, not just how much of it there is AXLE
A lorry can be two tonnes under its plated gross weight and get a prohibition, because the load went in at the back and the rear axle is over on its own.
The vehicle
Distances are from the front axle, positive towards the back. A rear bogie counts as one group at its centre, which is how plating works and the only arrangement that can be solved without guessing at the suspension.

How it works
AXLE works out how the weight of the vehicle and its load is shared between the axles from where the load sits, checks each axle against its plated limit and the steering axle against its minimum, and shows where the load can safely go. Your figures stay in this tab.
