A triage board that counts and keeps the clock TRIAGE
Triage is twenty seconds of questions. What fails at a multiple-casualty scene is the bookkeeping: nobody can say how many are in each category, and the person sieved P3 at minute four is not looked at again for fifty.
The scene
Where the scene stands
The casualty line of a METHANE message, from the board rather than from memory:
Triage one casualty
Answer only what the system asks. A question that cannot change the answer is not shown, which is why the sieve takes twenty seconds.
Secondary sort, if there is time
The triage revised trauma score: three observations, each coded nought to four, added. Done at the clearing station rather than at the wreck.
The board
How it works
TRIAGE is a board for a multiple-casualty incident. It counts casualties in each category, keeps a re-check clock for each one, and supports two common triage systems. It records the category the responder decides; it does not decide it. It runs in this tab.
Doing this often? OBSCURA Pro saves the board from here, along with the result of every other tool outside the Workspace, and includes the paid applications. Everything is US$9 a month or US$79 a year, 7 days free.
