Take a photo that carries its own proof SNAP
Take a photo here, or seal one you already have. It leaves with its SHA-256, the time, the place if you switch that on, and a signature from a key that never leaves this device.
Take the photo
Open the camera here, use the phone's own camera app, or seal a photo you already have.
This device's signing key
Made once, kept in this browser, never exported. Publish the fingerprint so others can check what it signs.
Making the key...Sealed in this browser
Each photo leaves as three files: the stamped copy, the untouched original and the signed sidecar.
Check a photo against its sidecar
Choose the photo and the sidecar that came with it. The hash and the signature are checked here.
How it works
SNAP takes a photo that carries its own proof, or seals one you already have. The image leaves with its SHA-256 fingerprint, the time, the location if you switch that on, and a signature, so anyone can check later that it has not changed since. It explains what the seal proves and what it does not. The photo is processed on your device.
