Bleep, silence or garble the words in a recording HUSH
A name, an address, the one sentence that cannot go out with the rest. Mark the spans on the waveform, choose a bleep, silence or a garble for each, listen, and save a WAV.
The recording
MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC or WebM, or a video, whose sound track is used. It is decoded in this tab and never leaves it.
Mark the words
Drag across the waveform, type the times, or paste a list; then choose what each span becomes.
Purple is a bleep, grey is silence, red is a garble. Ctrl and the wheel zooms, Shift and the wheel scrolls.
Spans
No spans yet.
Paste a list of times
Space plays and stops. Delete removes the selected span. Escape deselects it.
Listen and save
The result is a WAV at the recording's own sample rate and channel count, since no MP3 encoder is shipped; it is larger than an MP3 and loses nothing.
How it works
A bleep or silence replaces the audio, so the words cannot be recovered from the result. From an MP4, WebM or MOV it takes the sound track and returns the sound only. The recording is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
