Look at any file as bytes HEX
Drop a file and read it byte by byte: what it claims to be, its structure, how random each part is, and what a run of bytes means as a number.
The file
It stays on your machine. Only the rows you are looking at are read, and nothing is written back.
The bytes read-only
Nothing searched for yet.
Too tall to lay out row by row: the scrollbar moves proportionally. Go to offset is exact.
Click a byte to select it. Drag, or shift-click, to select a range; with a finger, tap the first byte and then the last.
Structure
Entropy
Shannon entropy of each block, in bits per byte. Click the graph to jump to that part of the file.
Click a bar to select the first byte of that block.
Take the selection out
Everything here works on the bytes currently selected. Nothing is uploaded to produce it.
How it works
HEX opens any file as raw bytes. Search for text or byte patterns and copy out a range. It opens large files, and it only reads a suspicious file, never runs it, which makes it a safe way to look inside one.
