How hot it is for the person working in it HEAT
Seven tenths of the index is the wet bulb, because humidity is most of what decides whether sweat does anything. A humid thirty beats a dry thirty-five.
The readings
Ordinary work clothes are the baseline. Coveralls add a couple of degrees to the effective index and a vapour-barrier suit a great deal more, and that heat is real even though no instrument on site reads it.

The criteria
These are the usual published screening figures for acclimatised workers, and they are editable because they are revised and they differ. A zero means the standard gives no figure for that combination, which is itself an answer.
The working
Heat illness is a medical matter. Somebody who has stopped sweating, or who is confused, is an emergency and not a rota problem.
How it works
HEAT works out heat stress for people working in hot conditions using the WBGT index, which weights humidity heavily because humidity decides whether sweat can cool you. A humid 30 degrees can be more dangerous than a dry 35. Enter the readings, the clothing and whether people are acclimatised, and it gives the index and what it means for work. The readings stay in this tab.
