An encrypted file anyone can open CAPSULE
Put files in, choose a passphrase, and CAPSULE writes a single HTML page that decrypts itself in any browser. It is built in this tab; no server holds a copy.
1. Files to seal
No files yet.
2. Passphrase
There is no recovery. Send the passphrase by a different route from the capsule, never in the same email.
3. Build the capsule
Open a capsule here
Choose a capsule file and enter its passphrase.
How it works
CAPSULE is for sending an encrypted file to someone who has no special software. Add the files, choose a passphrase, and it writes a single HTML page that decrypts itself in any browser once the right passphrase is entered, so the recipient needs nothing installed. A strong passphrase matters, and if it is lost the files cannot be recovered.
Doing this often? The OBSCURA Sovereign Suite seals files for the person with the passphrase, locks files for several keyholders, and keeps a record of what was sent. On its own, US$4 a month; with everything else, US$9 a month or US$79 a year. 7 days free.
